Adoption of Russian orphans by US citizens has recently been recently wrangled over after the April incident with a Russian boy Artyom. The American stepmother sent the 8-year old to Russia by plane alone with a note saying she rejected the boy. Currently, Artyom is in one of Moscow’s hospitals.
