Yamadayev’s attacker gets 8.5 years in prison

The Moscow Regional Court has given a Chechen-born defendant an 8.5-year jail term for attempting to assassinate Isa Yamadayev, a foe of the Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. About a year ago, Khavazha Yusupov, aged 24, tried to kill Yamadayev by shooting at him from a close distance for 3 million but Yamadayev survived the attack.
