May 7, 1945. Troops of the 4th Ukrainian Front mount the offensive in rough terrain west and southwest of Moravska Ostrava in Czechoslovakia, trying to dislodge the enemy from the southern Sudetes. Soviet tanks and infantry blast through enemy defenses. Troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front take control of Breslau in Lower Silesia.
