US beats Russia to world leadership in nat gas

A report by BP says the United States has overtaken Russia as the world’s biggest producer of natural gas. It pumped almost 600 billion cubic meters last year, which amounted to some 20 percent of the global output. Russia had held the leadership since 2001.
