The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday approved in the first reading a foreign policy bill asserting Ukraine’s off-bloc status in a complete reversal from the pro-NATO line of the former president Viktor Yushchenko. The bill was passed by 253 votes, more than 30 votes more than the required 226, the RIA Novosti news agency reports.
