United Kingdom Taiwanese vessel seized off Somalia

Pirates have seized the Tai Yuan-227 Taiwanese fishing boat off the Somali coast. When the contact with the vessel was resumed Friday, the pirates demanded a ransom for the crew. Somali pirates attacked 217 vessels and hijacked 47 in 2009.
