Somalia recognizes Kosovo independence

Somalia is the 69 th country to recognize Kosovo’s independence. Somalia’s official diplomatic note reads, among other things, that it acknowledges Kosovo’s contribution to stability in the Balkans. Backed by the EU and the US Kosovo’s Albanian authorities declared the province’s independence on February 17 th 2008.
