Russia offers Afghanistan close cooperation in combating terrorism and building a democratic and prosperous national state. President Medvedev told this to his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai at a meeting with him in Tashkent on Friday on the sidelines of a summit held by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Mr. Karzai extended thanks for support and help.
