Sweden’s Robin Soderling became the first finalist at the French Open tennis tournament, beating 15th seeded Czech Tomas Berdych. Soderling won in a bitter struggle 6-3, 3-6, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. In the final he is to go on to meet with the winner of the second semi-final, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
