Preliminary data has British Conservatives in lead in parliamentary elections

The opposition Conservative Party is apparently the leader in the parliamentary elections in Britain, gaining 307 seats out of 650. This is evidenced by preliminary data. The ruling Labour Party gained 255 seats, the third place went to the party the Liberal Democrats with 59 mandates. Other parties are gaining a total of 29 seats. Thus, according to preliminary projections for the first time since 1974 no party will obtain an absolute majority in the lower house, the House of Commons, and the UK will have what in effect is a “;hung”; parliament.
