Khodorkovsky in Switzerland after leaving Berlin: spokeswoman
Former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky is now in Switzerland after leaving Berlin, where he had been staying since his release from a Russian prison, his spokeswoman told AFP Sunday.
“He is in Switzerland where his children go to school,” said the spokeswoman, who refused to reveal which city Khodorkovsky is in.
Bern said Monday it had granted a three-month visa to the Kremlin critic, who was jailed for 10 years for financial crimes but last month pardoned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia’s one-time richest man, who has said he would stay away from his home country, has been mulling a move to Switzerland where his wife Inna lives and his twin sons go to school.
He left Berlin on Sunday with his wife by train, his spokeswoman said.
