Kemerovo mine blast leaves 11 dead, 40 injured

At least 11 miners were killed and 40 others sustained injuries in a twin methane explosion at the Raspadskaya coal mine in Russia’s Kemerovo region. There were about 360 miners in the pit when the first blast occurred around Saturday midnight. The second explosion came just four hours later, trapping 64 miners and 20 rescuers in underground shafts.
