The former President of the World Chess Federation Florencio Kampomanes has died in Bagio in the Phillipines at 83. He headed the Federation from 1982 to 1995. In 1978, he acted as the main organizer of a match for the world chess crown in Bagio between Anatoliy Karpov and Vladimir Korchn.
