Nearly two years ago, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed a new European security mechanism, based on the principle of security indivisibility. Reinhard Krumm takes the view that Western Europe is enthusiastic about this idea. President Medvedev’s proposal first seemed unbelievable for several countries, which are still equating Russia to the Soviet Union.
