The European Union and the International Monetary Fund are likely to increase assistance to Greece from 45 to 120 billion euros. A statement to that effect was made by the head of the Green faction in the German Bundestag Jurgen Trittin after meeting with the European Central Bank Chairman Jean-Claude Trichet and the IMF Managing-Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
