Emergency declared in 16 Thai provinces

Thailand ’s government declared a state of emergency in Bangkok and 16 provinces as the opposition ignored ultimatum on ceasing unrest. Political situation in the country became tense in March 2010. Opposition seized Bangkok’s business center demanding deposition of the government and former prime minister Thaksin Chinnawat back.
