Canada condemns Moscow airport bombing

Canada’s prime minister on Monday condemned a suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport that killed 35 people and wounded dozens.

The government of Canada “strongly condemns” the bomb attack, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a statement.

“The use of violence against innocent people must never be tolerated and we condemn those responsible for this horrible act,” he added, offering condolences to the victims’ families and to the Russian people.

“The international community faces an ongoing threat of terrorism and must remain vigilant as we work together with our allies to prevent future attacks.”

The suicide bomber blew himself up in the packed arrivals hall of Moscow’s largest airport in an attack slammed by the Kremlin as an act of terror.
