British Petroleum says it is prepared to foot the bill for the clean-up in the Gulf of Mexico, where a ruptured BP well continues to spew out oil. US Interior Secretary Ken Salazar estimates the blowout at about a hundred thousand barrels a day. He also envisages damages and costs of up to 3 billion American dollars.
