The engineers of British Petroleum company began lowering a dome to cap the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico in a bid to avert a major environmental disaster, RIA Novosti reported Friday. A-100 ton heavy ferroconcrete dome will be placed 1,500 m deep and equipped with a pipe to pump up the oil.
