Kyrgyzstan ’s Prosecutor-General’s Office has forwarded a request to Minsk for the extradition of the former Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. This came in a statement by the deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyz interim government Azimbek Beknazarov. Bakiyev was stripped of his presidential immunity and charged in absentia with abuse of power and complicity in murder.
