The 23 rd International Rudolf Nureyev Festival of Classical Ballet opened in Kazan on Wednesday. Dancers from leading ballet companies in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Austria and Poland are taking part. The opening show was Spartak by Aram Khachaturian. The famous Soviet ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev was born in 1938 in Irkutsk, in Eastern Siberia.
