The ancient icons have been found in the Spasskaya and Nikolskaya towers of the Moscow Kremlin. The icons were immured there during the Soviet era and have been regarded as missing. In late April the experts probed the brickwork of the towers and confirmed that the icons under the plaster layers have survived.
