30 June 2008

ZURICH – The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt of Jamaica, will run in Switzerland five days after the Olympics, meet organisers said Monday.

Bolt, the world 100 record-holder, has committed to run the sprint event at the Weltklasse meeting in Zurich on 29 August.

The 21-year-old set a 100 meters world record time of 9.72 seconds in New York City in May.

On Saturday, Bolt qualified for the Beijing Games at the Jamaica Olympic trials in Kingston, running 9.85 to beat former world record holder Asafa Powell into second place.
