Swiss break up Internet child porn ring, arrest 4

ST GALLEN — Swiss prosecutors say police have broken up an Internet child pornography ring operating in at least four countries.

Prosecutors in the eastern Swiss town of St Gallen say four men have been arrested in Switzerland on suspicion of producing child pornography or sexually abusing a young girl.

Swiss radio station DRS is reporting that the victim was 12 years old.

Prosecutors say the four arrested are among 13 Swiss citizens aged 20 to 65 who are subject to criminal investigations.

In the prosecutors’ statement Wednesday the online forum is said to have been mainly frequented by users from Germany, with some from Austria and Liechtenstein.

Investigations have also begun outside Switzerland, and one other person has been arrested abroad.
