Lower reference rate signals Swiss rent reductions

The Swiss federal housing office lowers its quarterly reference rate used to determine rents for apartments and other homes to 2.75 from three percent. The reduction should come as a relief for many tenants who stand to see the cost of their leases drop by more than eight percent, according to a renters group, which warns that such cuts are far from automatic.
