Iran signs gas deal with Switzerland

Tehran (dpa) – Iran on Monday signed a gas deal with Switzerland through the Swiss company Elektrizitaets-Gesellschaft Laufenburg.

In a joint press conference in Tehran, the foreign ministers of Iran and Switzerland, Manouchehr Mottaki and Micheline Calmy-Rey respectively, confirmed the signing of the agreement.

ISNA news agency reported that Iran would supply the Swiss company with 5.5 billion cubic metres of gas per year starting in 2011.
