EU files complaint against China on x-ray scanners

The European Union has filed a complaint against China over anti-dumping duties imposed by Beijing on European X-ray security scanners, the World Trade Organization said on Tuesday.

“On 25 July 2011, the European Union requested consultations with China under the dispute settlement system concerning the latters definitive anti-dumping duties on x-ray security inspection equipment from the EU,” said the WTO on its website, without giving further details.

Brussels and Beijing now have 60 days to find an amicable solution. If not, the EU could ask the WTO to rule on the case.
