ZURICH – Two men died in a light plane crash at Zurich airport Wednesday, police said.

The two other people aboard the single-engine plane, a man and a woman, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, said police of the canton (state) of Zurich.

The US-registered Cirrus SR22 plane was on its way from Geneva to Berlin when it crashed about 4 pm, police said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known and it was unclear why the plane had tried to land in Zurich.

Police said they were still trying to establish the identities of the victims.
