4 February 2005

MUNICH - Germans generally turn their mobile phones (cellphones) off in the cinema or concert hall, but are prone to leave them on while having sex, the weekly magazine Focus reported.

In advance of its latest issue, the Munich-based magazine said Friday that a survey it commissioned showed that 54 percent of Germans are reachable via their cellphones while making love.

By contrast, the survey taken of 860 cellphone users found that 90 percent of Germans turn their mobile phones off in the cinema or while at a concert.

The survey by the polis/Usama polling institute also showed that 59 percent of Germans leave their cellphones on while visiting a restaurant, 37 percent while at work, and 34 percent while driving, Focus said.
