Berlin -- Germany and Kosovo are to sign a deal soon to repatriate around 14,000 refugees, most of them Roma, some 10 years after escaping conflict in the Balkans, the German government said Wednesday.
"We expect that the agreement will be signed in the course of the autumn," German interior ministry spokesman Stefan Paris told a government briefing here.
"They will not be sent back in one batch, but in a moderate fashion," he said, adding the agreement conformed to international standards.
In a response to a parliamentary question tabled by the far-left Linke party and obtained by AFP, the government said that just under 10,000 of the Kosovans set for repatriation were Roma.
According to the terms of the agreement to be signed by Berlin and Pristina, refugees without a formal permit to remain in Germany who were born or lived in Kosovo and have documents showing they resided there will be sent back.

Good ideas here, only it would be 14 million or more. At the rate we are going here, this hemisphere will soon be a sewer line!
