17/02/2009Wilders’ party to take part in European elections

Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party has registered to take part in the elections for the European Parliament.

THE NETHERLANDS – Geert Wilders' Freedom Party has registered to take part in the elections for the European Parliament. The controversial Dutch MP wants to campaign under the motto "For the Netherlands".

Wilders, who expects to win two or three of the 27 seats available to the Netherlands, plans to undo the entry of Bulgaria and Rumania to the European Union and block Turkey from joining. The elections for the European Parliament in the Netherlands are due to be held on 4 June.

Last week, Wilders, an outspoken Islam-critic, was denied entry to the United Kingdom. He had been invited to attend a viewing of his anti-Muslim film Fitna in the Upper House of the British parliament. His decision to fly to the UK despite a letter from the Home Office informing him he would not be allowed into the country led to extensive media coverage.

I hope that Mr. Wilders will continue his drive for free speech AND his drive to expel illegal residents from Holland and the rest of the EU. Maybe England will roll out the red carpet for the illegals??

I can hardly wait for Mr. Wilders to get his way ... I already can imagine the Dutch farmers going to Bruxelles and tearing him to small shreds for causing them to lose the Rumanian and the Bulgarian markets. On the other hand, the farmers from Rumania and Bulgaria might send him flowers, if it's not them the ones that are paying for his campaign.
