Doctors find that changing diet and lifestyle habits can increase diabetes rates for immigrants.
With 90 percent of sugar rich breakfasts in Spain, more so than other countries I fail to see the 'truth' in this survey. The truth of the matter is that a diabetic diet is NO DIFFERENT from a healthy diet. That is, you take in the necessary food types with all the vitamins and minerals.
Thus, it is no different from malnuitrition or a suagr rich diet enjoyed by many from the UK and the USA. I agree that fasting could cause more stress on the body, however fasting could be controlled by injecting less for certain meals than others. Although this might have an effect once you move on to regualar eating habits!
With strong sugar types in most food types found in Spain being a diabetic is no-more un problematic than coming from other countries.
The big difference in Spain is eating healthy is a lot more healthier and it takes time to accustomise yourself to the new diet per insulin in-take. Still eating out in any restaurant you always need to inject more!
