22/04/2011Did you find your dream job or are you still dreaming? (survey)

Have you ever considered quitting your job to find a better match at another workplace?

You might believe you are doing fine at your present employer, but the question is, can you improve your performance and career path by changing your job? Finding the best match between an employee and his/her job always remains a challenge.

The Project

This pending problem inspired a group of 11 Master students affiliated with the HRM-OB group of the Amsterdam Business School, under supervision of Dr. Corine Boon and Dr. Stefan T. Mol, to carry out a large scale new research project on how personality characteristics, job attitudes, and other on-the-job behaviours are related to employee job performance. You are invited to participate!

What are the benefits of the study to you?

You get the opportunity to receive free personalized feedback on your results regarding job attitudes and behaviours on the work floor. Your results will be compared and contrasted with data from other participants. Moreover, you will contribute to science by helping extend knowledge on work related outcomes.

How is the research data collected?

Data will be collected by online questionnaires using three sources: you, your direct supervisor and a friend. You will be asked about your job attitudes, your supervisor will be asked to rate your work behaviours, and your friend will rate your personality. The questionnaire will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.

How are confidentiality and your rights safeguarded?

In doing this research the project members are bound by the ethical guidelines set forth by NIP, the Dutch professional association of psychologists (Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen).  The ethical principles determine to respect the dignity and worth of all people, and the rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality, and self-determination. Moreover, if you choose to remain anonymous nothing can be traced back to you.
