Turkish and Moroccan children’s talent overlooked by Dutch schools 14/05/2008 00:00

Survey reports that many Dutch primary schools pay little attention to talents of Turkish and Moroccan children.

14 May 2008

AMSTERDAM - A survey carried out by the University of Amsterdam among 1,000 second-generation Turks and Moroccans shows that many Dutch primary schools have little eye for the talents of Turkish and Moroccan children.

The survey showed that 25 percent of those interviewed were highly educated and lived in up-scale districts but that many of them experienced difficulties entering higher education. Half of the new migrant middle class has only achieved social and economic success via a time-consuming detour.
