Leuven University: 82nd best university in the world

Leuven University ended up on the 82nd place, down five places in comparison to last year.

Other Belgian universities dropped down the rankings as well.

Ghent university landed the 129th spot (122 in 2013) and the Francophone Catholic Louvain-la-Neuve University made 154 (138 in 2013).

The Francophone Brussels University (ULB), Free University Brussels (VUB) and Antwerp University (UA), Liège University, respectively ended up on the 173rd , 181st , 205th and 272nd place.

According to the rankings, the best universities in the world remain the same as last year: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), followed by Cambridge and the Imperial College London.

Harvard and Oxford complete the top five.
