Fun app for Ghent Festival

Later it emerged that the new square will be a virtual one and that like most things in Ghent in coming days it will be full of fun.

The Ghent Festival, Europe’s largest street music festival, occupies practically all the squares in the fair city of Ghent.

Speculation about a new square on Tuesday caught many an ear. It was VRT presenter Sam De Bruyn who first mentioned the square in a tweet on the micro-blogging network.

Hopes of a new real life square where you can enjoy the music and perhaps also a beer have been dashed as it has now emerged that the square will be a virtual square in the form of an app called Elaba.

Makers of the app are refusing to say more than that the app will become the electronic fun journal of the Ghent Festival.
