It's a major hype among tulip nurserymen: the "tulip flat". It's a new method of growing flowers in a greenhouse with one layer on top of another.Each layer has its own climate, fertilisers and lighting. The tulips are moved from one layer to the other depending on how far along they are in their growth.
Compared to a traditional greenhouse, the tulip flat uses less space. But the main advantage is that it cuts energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions by up to 50%.
