02/02/2012Foreign Minister rejects slur on Wilders

Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal says he categorically rejects the suggestion he claims is created by a German brochure that Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders operates outside the framework of law and order and parliamentary democracy.

The minister said in reaction to written questions from Wilders that “an interpretation of this kind would be incorrect and improper.”

The Dutch government is a minority coalition which has signed an agreement with the Freedom Party agreeing to implement some of its policies in return for parliamentary support on a number of its own issues. Geert Wilders has been accused by opposition politicians of having “power without responsibility.”

The brochure, which received subsidy from the German justice ministry, warns about the dangers of right-wing extremism. Wilders is named twice: once in connection with a meeting in September of the German party at which he was a guest and once in reference to badges displaying the logo of a mosque with a line through it “used by Geert Wilders and others”.

On Thursday morning Wilders demanded that the Netherlands summon the German ambassador for clarification. That did not happen but Uri Rosenthal says there were “direct contacts” with the German justice ministry.

The Dutch government whined and the Germans ignored them. Wilders is a crazy extremist, but it looks like the Dutch government has a problem with people having any opinion contrary to theirs.

Yes-shut up and appreciate Geert Wilders ! He is one of very few who has the courage to demand a respect for free speech and human rights, and has done so even though his life has been threatened and he still must live in fear. He fought for YOU and you just don't know it . How long are you going to let Islamists impose on you and your country before you have the guts to speak up against it ? And he's NOT a "crazy extremist"-he is a hero; if you had any perspective or half a brain, you'd realize that .
