THE NETHERLANDS - Residents of The Hague's Painters' district (Schilderswijk) are being plagued by chickens.
At least 70 of the birds now greet each dawn with their cackling and then proceed to destroy the gardens in the area with their hunting and pecking.
Residents have complained to their housing corporation, which is now doing its best to catch the birds.
Precisely where the chickens have come from remains a mystery, as does their fate once they have been caught.
