27/11/2008Revolving cafe door generates electricity

Customers in a café in Zeist generate enough electricity to make a cup of coffee each time they enter through the revolving door.

27 November 2008

ZEIST – At a café in the town of Zeist, the patrons are generating electricity by means of a revolving door.

Guests entering the café, a former station buffet, can check on a gauge how much power they have generated. One person entering the café generates enough power to make a cup of coffee.

Nature café La Porte says this is the first time a revolving door has been used in such an environmentally friendly way.
