It disgust me that these men being tried in the Netherlands were basically given a slap on the wrist when they RAPED 24 children. Send them back to Brazil, the should of never been given emergency passports in the first place to leave. Since I first read about this case it has disgusted me. The government needs to do the right thing.
Frans Nederstigt is working at Projeto Trama (not at Terre des Hommes), a Brazilian human rights consortium of 3 NGOs and a University.
Frans Nederstigt claims that extradition in this case is possible and based, a.o., on article 5-2 of the Optional Protocol on Child Trafficking, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography (ratified by Brazil and the Netrherlands), and not on the Children´s Rights Convention istelf.
