It is sad to see the gradual totalitarian creep. First it was tabac in France, now the nanny state has its sights set on the Netherlands, which has run a rather successful liberal society until now.
With typical modern journalistic incompetence, the writer of this article ignores exactly what it is that the mayors of these communities are so troubled about. One thing is certain, they will miss the money that is brought into the cities by the loss of tourism. It seems a much more docile form of tourism than the destruction and violence that prevails when the football hooligans arrive and start drinking.
