A rail maintenance train drove right through a shop on Sunday night and ended up in a square outside the railway station in the Frisian town of Stavoren.
Two people in the cabin sustained slight injuries.
The train drove through the buffers around 23:30 and smashed a 30-metre hole in a water sports shop, pushing an empty diesel tanker on the other side of the buffers ahead of it. It came to a halt 100 metres further in the square behind the shop.
A police spokesperson said it was a miracle more people were not injured. It is not known what caused the accident.
