The number of new Twitter accounts being opened by Dutch people is falling off, according to research agency Multiscope.
Around 250,000 new accounts were opened last year.
The Dutch may be known as one of the world’s most Twitter-y nations but the peak period of growth was between April 2010 and April 2011, when more than 430,000 new accounts were opened.
The total number of Dutch accounts now stands at 1.05 million - out of a population of 16.7 million - and Dutch people have tweeted 2.5 billion times since Twitter began.
