01/02/2011Dutch unemployment - lowest in eurozone

In December 2010, unemployment in the Netherlands was the lowest of all the 16 countries then using the euro. The figures were published by the European Union’s Eurostat agency on Tuesday.

In December, 10 percent of the eurozone’s working population - nearly 15.8 million people - were without a job, the same percentage as in November.

In the Netherlands, just 4.3 percent of the working population was jobless. Spain, at 20.2 percent, had the highest unemployment in the eurozone.
