15/04/2009Netherlands seeks new rules on illegal aliens

New measures suggested by the justice ministry include allowing immigration police to search homes or workplaces of suspected aliens without having to first apply for permission from the courts.

THE NETHERLANDS – The Dutch cabinet has taken additional measures to expel illegal aliens and failed asylum seekers, say deputy justice minister Nebahat Albayrak.

A report by Trouw reveals additional measures which include allowing aliens police (immigration police) to search homes, workplaces, computers and mobile telephones of suspected aliens for proof of identity papers without having to first apply for permission from the courts.

The new measures will also make it impossible for illegal aliens to file a new asylum request just before they board the plane.

A new asylum request can only filed from abroad and after new facts or circumstances arise.

Albayrak will also pass on information from criminal records to the authorities in the country of origin, on condition this does not risk the life or security of the person in question.

At present, a number of countries cite lack of knowledge of the illegal aliens’ criminal records as a reason to refuse re-admitting such citizens.

"We are going to take unorthodox measures… The end of our creativity is not yet in sight." said the deputy justice minister.

Last week, the deputy minister came under fire following a report which reveal only half of all illegal aliens are actually deported.

leticia olalia morales of 15501 pasadena ave #8 tustin ca 92780 submitted fake documents and paid a consul 5000.00 dollars to obtain a tourist visa. she is now applying for naturalization.
