14/03/2009Fourth medal for Dutch skaters in Canada

Dutch skater Margot Boer took a bronze medal in the women's 1000 metres at the World Championships in the Canadian city of Vancouver.

VANCOUVER - She crossed the finish line in one hour 16 minutes and 44 seconds. Canada's Christine Nesbitt won gold and Germany's Anni Friesinger won silver.

Boer's bronze is the the Netherlands' fourth medal at the world Championships. Earlier, there were gold medals for Sven Kramer in the 5000 metres and Renate Groenewold in the 3000 metres.

Ireen Wüst won a silver in the 1500 metres.
