New York - A protestant church in New York founded by Dutch colonists centuries ago has for the first time offered apologisies for the massacre and deportation of Native Americans.

Collegiate Church was founded in 1628 as a Dutch Reformed Church in what then was called New Amsterdam.

During a reconciliation gathering with Lenape Indians, Pastor Robert Chase said: "We have used your natural resources, we have dehumanised your people and have shown no respect for your culture. With pain in our hearts we remember our role in these events."

The meeting was held in front of the Museum of the American Indian in southern Manhattan close to where Dutch colonists built their first fort.

So when will they do the same thing to other countries such as Suriname, Indonesia, etc...

The church has been duped! These are a bunch of people playing Indian.

Neither of the groups are Federally-recognized (legitimate) Tribal Nations (i.e. governments). Mr. Zuniga is an individual member of a legitimate Tribe, but he seems to have sold his soul to fakes and has created a fake group by self-declaring himself a Chief. Very sad.

Check out what the Cherokee Nation has done to educate folks on this growing problem!

Hope they did not give them money and waste more time on apologizing to the wrong folks.

Watch the video, especially! They even included some fake Cherokees in the mess.
