Project Romania 2020 Care to act? GRASP (Global Romanian Society of Young Professionals) is organizing between 18 and 20 of November its forth annual conference on the topic Project Romania 2020: Because We Care. The Role of Active Citizenship in Romania’s Development. Every year the conference has a different topic and it takes place in a different GRASP local chapter, this year the lucky pick being Amsterdam.

Through the conference GRASP aims to identify solutions and best practices to encourage civic involvement  among young Romanian professionals and to further motivate them. The purpose of the conference is to set a  new trend in volunteering and civic involvement by gathering representants of all major sectors in the society:  NGOs, private companies, media and public institutions from Romania as well as from the Netherlands.

The guest speakers will tackle some of the issues related to active citizenship:

  • What does it mean to be a Romanian active citizen in a global world?
  • How do companies participate in encouraging active citizenship among their employees?
  • Is CSR the real deal, or just a trend to build the image of corporations?
  • Volunteering - the classic model of civic involvement - how do we take it to the next level and transform it into civic engagement and community organizing to keep the momentum going?

Do you want to grasp the change? Apply by October 20, 2011. More details on registration here.
