The HSBC Expat is inviting all expats to fill out an online survey about challenges and difficulties that come with a life away from home.

The survey will examine the opportunities, challenges and difficulties that expats and their families can face when adjusting to a new lifestyle and culture. It will also look at how the global financial crisis has affected the expat community living in economies around the world.

This is the second consecutive year the bank is running the Expat Explorer survey.

The inaugural survey from last year was filled out by 2,155 expatriates from across four continents and revealed that Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the USA were the best locations to become an expatriate while Spain, France and Germany are the best locations to raise expat children. According to those surveyed, Germany, Canada and Spain are the easiest countries for expats to integrate into.

The survey also revealed that expat children speak more languages and spend more time outdoors than children in their country of origin. Click here for a more detailed report of the survey.
